ELOHAI International is excited to announce a partnership with Hempstead Elementary School in the Greater Houston Area to offer the first chartered Little Free Library in Hempstead, Texas. October 1 marked the beginning of National Book Month, and this partnership will provide 24/7 access to a variety of books to members of the Hempstead community. The library will be outside of the school in an area easily accessible to the community so that readers can borrow and leave books at their leisure.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with ELOHAI International to provide a unique way for students to have access to books and engage with our community,” Hempstead Elementary School Principal, Dr. Brittanee Shiflett, said. “We are encouraging students to read, and we are promoting literacy by giving students the chance to utilize the Little Free Library to explore a variety of books and novels, both at school and at home.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, during the school's STEAM Night. Supporters are asked to donate books focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) and other books by visiting this library’s Amazon Registry:
Additional new and slightly used books for children and adults may also be sent to:

"We look forward to sharing important stories that will empower and educate all members of the Hempstead community," said ELOHAI International's Publisher and CEO, Natasha Brown Watson. "Reading and literacy are closely connected to the future success rate of young people. Our goal is to encourage reading year-round–for children and their guardians–through this community, book-sharing resource."
